Abstract

1387714 Bookbinding HYPPOLA OY 4 April 1972 [8 April 1971] 15268/72 Heading B6A Sheets, e.g. of self copying paper, each have a strip of liquid, e.g. water-activatable glue applied to an end portion of a major surface thereof and are subsequently assembled into sets a liquid, e.g. water, then being sprayed to bind the sheets together. In a particular embodiment the top and bottom sheet of each set has its outer major surface free of glue, a water spray from a nozzle D then being applied to the edge of the stack to adhere the sheets of each set together. The strength of adherence can be adjusted by altering the amount of water sprayed and thus its penetration into the edge of the stack. The stacks may be moved on a conveyer B.
