Abstract

1387271 Supporting bus-bars REYROLLE PARSONS Ltd 27 April 1972 [11 May 1971] 14256/71 Addition to 1238293 Heading H2C The bus-bar support arrangement of Specification 1,238,293, is modified such that the tubular sleeve is carried by a vertically extending carrier member, e.g. a vertical metal carrier post, mounted on top of the support insulator. The carrier member 4 is rigidly secured at its lower end to the metal top cap 5 of a support insulator 6 and is either bolted or welded at its top end to the midpoint of the bus-bar support tube 2. An end support tube 3 may be provided with an extension arm 3A which can be weighted to provide a full or partial counterbalance. The height at which the support tube is carried above the insulator can be made at least equal to the minimum phase to phase voltage clearance corresponding to the rated voltage of the system. The insulators 6 may form parts of the insulation of disconnect switch gear.
