Abstract

1386788 Assembling containers into outer containers; endless conveyers SCHWEPPES Ltd 20 Dec 1972 [5 Nov 1971] 51448/71 Headings B8C and B8A Apparatus for bringing together inner containers and outer cups to form composite packages, comprises conveyer means 214 for conveying inverted containers 258 past a head 234 from which outer cups 256 in inverted position are dropped, means for spacing the containers at regular intervals, and means drivingly inter-connected with the head and conveyer means so that an inverted cup is dropped on to each inverted container as it pasess the head. As shown, the containers 258 are spaced along the conveyer 214 by a screw feeder 224 and subsequently by flights (230), Fig. 4 (not shown), on a chain and having a path of travel 232 beneath the head 234 which operates according to that described in Specification 1,386,786. The drive for the conveyer 214, screw feeder 224, chain and head 234, is derived from an electric motor 236. Specification 1,386,787 is referred to.
