Abstract

1386608 Chucks WICKMAN MACHINE TOOL SALES Ltd 1 May 1972 [22 June 1971] 29115/71 Heading B3B A jaw piece 12 for attachment to a main jaw 11 of a machine tool chuck is in the shape of an L-section with one limb 12a adapted to be bolted against the main jaw 11 whilst its other limb 12a projects therefrom, said other limbs 12b being under-cut to provide a groove 14 defined between a shoulder 15 on said other limb and an inwardly inclined opposite surface 16 of a subgroove 17 in said one limb 12a, and comprises a separable gripper 18 with a part to fit within the groove 14 and a wedge-shaped projection to fit within the sub-groove 17 and which is clamped by a screw 20 passing through the end of the other limb 12b. The interengaging radially directed faces are arcuate and a gripper 18 is removable by sliding it sideways.
