Abstract
1386681 Regenerative coke ovens KOPPERS CO Inc 9 Aug 1972 [10 Aug 1971] 37246/72 Heading F4B In a regenerative coke oven, an array of tiles between the regenerators and soleflues have ports of such form and dimensions that uniform up flow through the ports from the soleflue to the regenerators is obtained, while the down flow from the regenerators to the soleflue is non- uniform, a greater quantity of waste gas passing through the end sections of the regenerators. The ports 30 formed between interlocking tiles 31, Fig. 3, vary in shape and size from the end of the soleflue 20, Fig. 1, having an inlet 19 to the closed end, the ports at the inlet end being narrower at the bottom than at the top while the ports at the closed end are narrower at the top than at the bottom. The Specification gives suitable top and bottom diameters for an array of ports between the soleflues and regenerators of a particular furnace.
