Abstract

1386195 Hydration of olefins DEUTSCHE TEXACO AG 23 Feb 1973 9097/73 Heading C2C C 2-5 alkanol is made by hydrating an olefin in the presence of a strongly acidic cation exchange resin, a portion of the total water employed being added after commencement of the reaction. The olefin and part of the water may be added to the inlet of a suitable reactor and the remainder of the water added downstream from the inlet.
