Abstract

1385138 Printers INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 19 Sept 1973 [12 Oct 1972] 43956/73 Heading G4H In an ink drop printer in which ink drops are charged in accordance with character generating signals, the charge can be further varied to shift the position at which characters are printed. In Fig. 3, character generating signals applied at the left are supplied to a charging electrode via terminal 61 at the right. Normally switches 50, 51, 52 are open, closed, open respectively. For printing a superscript, both switches 51; 52 are open to shift it up, and for a subscript, both switches 51, 52 are closed to shift it down. Switch 50 is closed for both superscript and subscript to reduce its size to ¥.
