Abstract
1384498 Film stretching apparatus LINDAUER DORMER GmbH 19 July 1973 [14 Aug 1972] 34366/73 Heading B5B A holding device 1 for use in apparatus for stretching a web 6 having a thickened edge 10 comprises a lower U-shaped holding bar 3 and an upper holding-down and guiding bar 4, displaceably arranged and fixed to a guide bolt 5 set at a predetermined angle α, along which it is axially displaced by means of a control cam or roller 7, so that the distance x between the holding surfaces 8, 9 of bars 3, 4 can be adjusted according to the thickness of the web to be stretched. Thickened edge 10 extends into a U-shaped recess 11 of bar 3, where it rests against an internal surface 12 of the arm 13 of the U which is closest to the web 6, and can slide along that surface. To facilitate web sliding, arm 13 may be made of a slippery material, e.g. "Teflon" (Registered Trade Mark). When stretching has been completed the bar 4 is displaced upwards and to the right from its operative position into the inoperative position shown in broken lines by displacement of guide bolt 5 under the action of cam or rollers 7.
