Abstract

1383530 Transporting copy sheets RICOH KK 28 Dec 1972 [28 Dec 1971] 59948/72 Heading G2H [Also in Division B8] In an electro-photographic copying apparatus wherein the time between the start of feeding of successive copy sheets is shorter than the transportation time of a copy sheet through the apparatus there is provided a device for detecting an interuption in sheet transport comprising first and second timing means arranged to begin respective timing cycles at the start of feeding respective alternate copy sheets and sensing means responsive to discharge of successive copy sheets to interrupt the timing cycles of respective alternate ones of said timing means, the period of said timing cycles being selected to marginally exceed the said time of transportation so that completion of either of said timing cycles indicates an interruption in passage of a copy sheet. A further timing means may be triggered upon commencement of discharge of a copy sheet and interrupted upon completion of discharge. If any of the timing cycles are completed an audible or visual alarm may be activated or the sheet transport halted.
