Abstract
1383567 Change-speed control ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 8 Aug 1972 [19 Aug 1971] 36964/72 Heading F2D In a fluid pressure operated coincidental control for a main clutch and engine accelerator disconnector in a gear-shift system on a motor vehicle, to ensure that the main clutch remains released and the accelerator disconnected until a synchronized gear shift has been positively completed, clutch release and accelerator disconnection cylinders 10, 11 and a piston 7 loading a pressure regulator 3, are simultaneously pressurized from a pump line 2 through a first release valve 6, shifted by a control linkage (not described) from a central neutral position A to an active position B or C on either side, in which it supplies pumped pressure 2 to the cylinders, and there is a second release valve 12, moved left to position B by pump pressure 2, acting at 13, to pressure a line 15, which ensures continuation of pressure feed to the clutch and accelerator cylinders 10, 11 and regulator load piston 7, even though the first release valve 6 may have been prematurely returned to neutral A, until the second release valve 12 is mechanically returned to position A, against pump pressure at 13, by a cam bar 16 actuated mechanically through a linkage (not described) by the gear shift control on completion of positive engagement of the new ratio.
