Abstract

1383385 Display J CATTEAU 26 April 1972 [30 April 1971] 19436/72 Heading G5C A display case comprises a translucent front wall 4, which is sealed by angles 6, 6<SP>1</SP> to the other walls, and an inner wall 3 spaced from the wall 4, a notice 9 being suspended at its upper end between the walls 3, 4 from the lower end 10 of an extensible blind 11 wound round a motor or manually driven drum 12. The notice 9, weighted at its lower end by a bar 8<SP>1</SP> is changed by lowering it through the base which either has a slot 16, which can be covered by a removable plate 16<SP>1</SP>, or is operable by being hinged along its rear edge. The new notice is substituted for the old one on the blind, and is then raised into its display position. In another embodiment the blind 11 is replaced by two parallel chains 20 which are lowered or raised by pinions 21 on a common shaft 22. Each chain passes rearwardly between two spaced rods 24, and has bars 26 which protrude laterally over the rods. The chain is thus supported by these bars, and the portions of chain between successive bars hang downwardly. The notice 9 is made of plasticized paper and is illuminated from behind by tubes 2.
