1382968 Sulphoxide and sulphone derivatives of thiocarbamates STAUFFER CHEMICAL CO 14 Aug 1973 [14 Aug 1972(3) 18 June 1973 (3)] 39502/73 Heading C2C Novel sulphoxide and sulphone derivatives of thiocarbamates having the general formula wherein n is 1 or 2; R is phenalkyl, alkylphenalkyl, halophenalkyl or haloalkylphenalkyl and R 1 and R 2 , taken together, represent a ring structure having from 3 to 10 carbon atoms, which ring structure is optionally alkyl substituted, may be prepared by reacting a compound of the formula with an oxidizing agent, e.g. peracetic acid or n-chloroperoxybenzoic acid, preferably in an inert solvent at a temperature of from -25‹ to +65‹ C. The compounds of the invention may be used as herbicides.
