1382625 Fire-resistant polymers STAUFFER CHEMICAL CO 28 July 1972 35383/72 Heading C3P Fire-resistant polymers are obtained by copolymerizing (a) a mixture of an ethylenically unsaturated halogen-containing monomer and 2À5-90% by weight of the mixture of where each R is a chloro-, bromo, or fluorosubstituted alkyl group and may be the same or different or conjoint or (b) a mixture of a major proportion of (a) with a minor proportion of another monomer. Such copolymers may be blended with each other and/or with a polymer of a halogen-containing monomer. Examples relate to a copolymer of vinyl chloride and bis(beta-chloroethyl)vinyl phosphonate.
