1382247 Benzopyran derivatives FISONS Ltd 16 May 1972 [10 June 1971 30 Sept 1971 4 Feb 1972] 19837/71 45472/72 and 5227/72 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I) (including salts thereof) are made by (a) treating an anhydride, ester or halide of (II) with hydroxylamine, (b) selectively dehydrogenating (IV) or (c) selectively hydrogenating or hydrolyzing (V) where y is a group replaceable by H when hydrogenation or hydrolysis is effected. Pharmaceutical preparations useful in treating, e.g. asthma, hay fever and urticaria contain (I) as active ingredient.
