1382154 Junction pieces R & G SLOANE MFG CO Inc 11 May 1972 [1 June 1971] 22224/72 Heading F2G In plastics junction pieces formed with sockets 12, 112, the sockets are thickened eccentrically at their bases, the thickening at 14, 114 being greater than that at 18, 118. By making the ratio of the thickness at 18 or 118 to the outside diameter of the fitting equal to the ratio of the wall thickness of the pipe to its outside diameter, the fluid pressure is prevented from expanding the junction-piece more than the pipe, thus ensuring the security of the bonded spigot and socket joints.
