Abstract

1381877 Fertilizer from animal manure C N WATERS and K A WATERS 16 Oct 1972 [21 Oct 1971] 49094/71 Head ng C1B A process for producing a fertilizer comprises mixing or mixing and pulverizing 30 to 78% of an animal manure (such as poultry manure) with 2 to 20% of an alkaline material (such as quicklime), 20 to 68% of a dry humus material and optionally 0 to 5% of additives. The humus material may be peat, chopped straw or wood shavings. The product may be stored, further stirred with/without pulverizing and screened to give a fine powder. An apparatus for effecting the process is described and comprises rotating chopping blades.
