Abstract

1381702 Land and marine mines DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 16 Feb 1973 [18 Feb 1972] 7870/73 Heading F3A A self-righting, land, sea-bed or buoyant, hollow charge mine which can be dropped from aircraft, missiles or projectiles; or which forms part of the missiles or projectiles; or which can even be thrown by hand, comprises: a hollow charge 4; a close proximity or impact fuze for firing the mine if the mine approaches or strikes a target whilst being laid; and a proximity or impact fuze 6 for firing the mine once it has been laid. In the case of a land or sea-bed mine, a cap 3 causes the mine to roll over on landing, whereupon a cord 23 releases spring loaded legs for erecting the mine. The mine can be laid with the aid of a releasable parachute 1. The fuze 6 comprises; a spring striker mechanism; an infra-red sensor; a noise sensor; a vibration sensor; or an inductive or capacitative approach sensor. The fuze 7 comprises: piezoelectric means; electrical contacts which are closed by acceleration when the mine strikes a target; magnetic sensors; or inductive or capacitative approach sensors. When inductive and capacitative sensors are used in both of the fuzes 6 and 7 they are connected with a threshold trigger which activates a thyristor connecting a power source to the fuzes.
