Abstract
1381790 Azo dyestuff production VYZKUMNY USTAV ORGANICKYCH SYNTEZ 22 May 1972 [21 May 1971] 23917/72 Heading C4P In the method of producing an azo dyestuff by (a) reacting an aromatic amine with a diazotizing agent to form a diazo compound and (b) reacting the diazo compound with a coupling component to form the dyestuff, either or both of processes (a) and (b) is effected by forming stores of the liquid reactants and performing a succession of reaction cycles each including feeding portions of the liquids in the stores to a reaction zone and discharging the resulting liquid from the reaction zone. Preferably the duration of each reaction cycle is not more than 12 minutes and the reactions are effected without any applied heating or cooling. In examples diazo components used are sulphanilic acid, 6-chloro-2- amino-toluene and 6-nitro-1-amino-2-naphthol- -4-sulphonic acid and the respective coupling components are 2-naphol, 2-hydroxy-3-naphthoic acid and 1-naphthol.
