Abstract

1381389 Alternative sheet and book copying OCE-VAN DER GRINTEN NV 13 Oct 1972 [15 Oct 1971] 47395/72 Heading G2A An original in the form of a sheet or book is copied in a single xerographic apparatus having alternative stripwise scanning exposure arrangements. In Fig.1, a sheet is copied while being passed through an exposure slit 16, a slit image being projected by means of movable light sources 2/mirror 4, movable mirror 5, objective 6 and stationary mirrors 7 and 8 on to a photoconductive drum 9. A book is copied while stationary on a glass plate 1, light sources 2/ mirror 4 being moved from one end of plate 1 to the other (from 4' to 4") while mirror 5 moves half the distance (from 5' to 5"). In Fig.2, a slit image 31 of a sheet is projected by means of stationary light sources 32, stationary mirrors 35 and 36, movable mirror 27 (hinged to a mirror 26 which is swung into an inoperative position) and stationary mirror 28. A slit image of a book is projected by means of movable light source 2/mirror 24, movable mirrors 26/27, and stationary mirror 28.
