Abstract

1381134 Sampling apparatus BIRTLEY ENG Ltd 10 Sept 1973 [20 Sept 1972] 43470/72 Heading B8N The apparatus for sampling material as it falls in a stream 9 as disclosed in Specification 1,381,133 has a discharge door 25 in the sample container 6, a spring for holding the door closed and a collecting shoot 15 movable to and from a position in which it can engage and open the discharge door against the action of the spring to collect a sample from the container. When the sample is to be discharged from the container the collecting shoot 15 is swung over by an hydraulic linear actuator 18, the discharge door 25 being opened during this movement by the engagement of a pair of cams 22 on the shoot with a pair of rollers 23 carried by brackets 24 on the container.
