Abstract
1380468 Concrete reinforcement connections G HUBMANN 14 April 1972 [23 April 1971 24 Jan 1972] 17351/72 Heading E1W A metal reinforcement mat for cast in situ beams, ceiling plates or columns, or prefabricated concrete elements is connected to a further parallel reinforcement which may be a second mat by means of a sinuous steel rod 1 formed of constant section rod stock whose regions of maximum curvature are formed as hooks 2 along at least one side. The opposite apices 3 may pass over and be engaged by rods 8 of the upper mat or may be formed as hooks and engage the rods 7. The lower hooks 2 are swung under the transverse rod 5 of the lower mat and may be formed with a check bar or protruberance 4 which engages the bars 6 of the lower mat to clamp the sinusoidal rod in position at a preselected angle to the lower mat plane. Prefabricated elements may be formed with the upper portions 3 projecting from the concrete formed on the vibrating table 10.
