Abstract
1378912 Zeolitic cracking catalyst W R GRACE & CO 11 July 1972 [26 July 1971] 32403/72 Heading B1E [Also in Divisions C1 and C5] A catalyst composition comprises a mixture of an inorganic oxide, preferably silica and/or alumina, with a zeolitic catalyst made by subjecting a faujasite type zeolite, having a silica to alumina molar ratio greater than 3:1, a silver cation content of 1+20% by wt (as Ag 2 O) and a rare earth metal cation content of 1 to 15% by wt (as RE 2 O 3 ) to a hydrogen atmosphere, in the absence of hydrocarbons at 200-650‹C for ¢ to 10 hours. The zeolite preferably has a sodium cation content of less than 0.5% by wt (as Na 2 O). Examples illustrate the preparation of a composition of 10%, 6% and 3.5% of a Ag-RE-Y type zeolite with a matrix of 60 part of an Si/Al hydrogel containing 25% Al 2 O 3 and 30 parts of kaolin clay which is formed into pills.
