Abstract

1375425 Printing plate preparation B BACHER KG 26 June 1972 [25 June 1971] 29778/72 Heading G2X Montages for the preparation of printing plates for multiple colour printing, are produced by (1) disposing at least two films on a mounting plate, (2) employing releasable attaching means for retaining each film in a desired position on the mounting plate, (3) placing securing elements into engagement with each film and fixing them to the mounting plate for the purpose of securing each film against undesirable displacement from the desired position, (4) releasably securing a montage foil on an upper plate, (5) releasing the attaching means, (6) moving the two plates closely together to permit the montage foil and the films to be pressed into mutual engagement for the purpose of transferring the latter to the montage foil, thereby to produce a first montage, (7) removing the said first montage from the upper plate and substituting therefor a further montage foil, (8) securing by means of the fixed securing elements further films in the positions previously occupied by the corresponding first mentioned films, and (9) again moving the two plates towards one another to effect transfer of the further films to the further montage foil and thereby to produce a further montage.
