Abstract

1375487 Separating and drawing multifilament TEIJIN Ltd 7 Feb 1972 [3 Aug 1971] 5536/72 Headings D1D D1J and D1N A textile machine comprises a feed roller 6 and draw roller 8 which are independently driven and which unwind multifilament from a package 2 and pass it to a guide 10 which separates it into monofilaments. The monofilaments are wound on bobbins 24 which are supported and driven at one end, towards which they are pressed from the other end. The drive of the feed and draw rollers may be controlled during start up by a feed back stystem which compares a speed dependent voltage with a programmed voltage. The program is arranged so that the product of the draw produced by the rollers DR 2 and the draw produced due to the inertia of the package 2, DR 1 does not exceed a predetermined maximum DR 0 , Fig. 5. A circuit is described which gives an initial steady rate of increase of DR 2 in time o-t 1 after which the speed ratio and hence draw is constant while the speeds increase in time t 1 -t 0 . An additional circuit may be provided to also control the bobbin windup speed of motors 26 by amplifying a tension deviation signal produced by tension sensors 9 which are angularly displaced by a tension increase. The gain of the amplification in this circuit is increased with an increase of the voltage signals generated by the above mentioned program circuit. The means of pressing the bobbin ends, Fig. 3, comprises springs 35 which allow light gripping of the bobbins and electromagnetic or fluid operated cylinders 36 which increase the grip during winding.
