Abstract

1373686 Valves R KRAUSE [trading as ROBERT KRAUSE KG] 23 Feb 1972 [4 March 1971] 8286/72 HeadingF2V A valve for controlling the rate of flow of liquid in a main flow direction and in a reverse flow direction in accordance with direction of flow, comprises a pivoted closure element 5 which assumes the open position shown in broken line during main flow, and the closed position shown in full line during reverse flow whereby the latter flow is restricted by orifice 7. Moreover, the element 5 is of buoyant material and has a cavity 8 in which air is trapped when the element is in its open position so that upon the onset of reverse flow, the buoyancy generated by the trapped air lifts the element towards its closed position. A filter nozzle (not shown) may be formed integrally with the valve housing 1 or screwed into threaded passage 2 thereof.
