Abstract
1373685 Cutting concrete blocks HEBEL GASBETONWERK GmbH 18 Feb 1972 [20 Feb 1971] 7700/72 Heading B5A [Also in Division B8] A cast concrete block is stripped from the mould, and divided by cutting wires in a first direction and then in a second direction transverse to the first, the cut block then being rotated through 90 degrees and placed in an autoclave for steam hardening. As described for a rectangular reinforced block 1 (Fig. 2a), cast flat or on edge, and to be cut into plates or bricks, the stationary block is first cut longitudinally by stretched wires 3 on a movable carriage 2, or by fixed wires 14 (Fig. 7a), while the block moves in direction A. Transverse cutting is effected while the block is on edge by wires 8 (Fig. 4a), that reciprocate vertically and horizontally. Cutting machine.-A cast, rectangular block is lifted to a cutting station 15 (Fig. 10), by tongs or suction and on to a table 16 grooved to receive guide rods 29 attached at one end to a frame 30, and at the other end to a portal 32 via cutting wires 31 (Fig. 11). The portal 32 and frame 30 travel on rails 33 to cut the stationary block lengthwise (alternatively, the block moves in a direction V (Fig. 10), while the wires 31 are stationary). After cutting, the table 16 moves on rails 19 to a station 20, where a vertical plate 24 (Fig. 13), is mechanically interlocked with table 16, and the table and plate rotated hydraulically to stand the block on edge on the plate 24. Table 16 is returned to a horizontal position and to the cutting station 15 (Fig. 10), while the block and plate 24 (Fig. 13) are moved by a carriage 23 to a station 21 for cutting transversely by wires stretched in a frame 41. The carriage 23 returns the cut block to the station 20 (Fig. 10), where the vertically arranged grid 27, moved from an unloading station 25, and the plate 24 (Fig. 13), rotate the block back through 90 degrees to a horizontal position (see Fig. 14, not reproduced). The grid 27 (Fig. 10), and block are removed to an autoclave. In an alternative embodiment (Figs. 15- 17, not shown), the block is moved between stations 15, 20, 25 (Fig. 10), by a grid movable on rollers and raised through the cutting table 16 to lift the block away.
