Abstract

1373581 Digital wattmeter RD HUNTER 5 Jan 1973 [6 Jan 1972] 601/72 Heading G1U In a wattmeter, voltage and current waveforms proportional to voltage across and current through an inductive load Z are sampled and converted to digital signals which are multiplied at 16 and accumulated at 20 and the average read out in decimal form after a given number of samples. As shown respective A-D converters are provided and the voltage signals are delayed #/2 in a shift register 40. Clock pulses for the converters and shift register are at a phase-locked multiple of the frequency of source V. The circuit may use only one A-D converter shared between the voltage and current waveforms and may be adapted for polyphase inputs.
