Abstract
1372533 Thermal switches EGO ELEKTROGERATE AG 26 Nov 1971 [27 Nov 1970] 54909/71 Heading H1N A thermostat for an electric heating appliance, for example a hot-plate 32, comprises a temperature sensor 17 connected to a bellows 15, a screw spindle 13 rotatable by a regulating knob 12, the superimposed regulating and expansion movements being transmitted by a compression strut 18 to a rigid plate 19 spring-urged towards snap switches 23, 24. Snap switches 23, 24 are normally open but are closed by pressure from plate 19 through adjusting screws 35, 36 until plate 19 is lifted off the snap switches 23, 24 by strut 18, snap switches 23, 24 being adjusted relative to each other to operate at different temperatures, and a stop 22 limiting the movement of plate 19 towards snap switches 23, 24. A detailed construction of the thermostat is given with respect to Figs. 2-5 (not shown), in which the movement of strut 18 is transmitted to plate 19 through an adjustable set-screw 64, Fig. 2, in plate 19, stop 22 is adjustable and the mounting for switches 23, 24 is adjustable by set-screws 56, Fig. 3. In a second embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown), screws 35, 36 are carried by compensating bimetals 68 fastened to plate 19.
