1371938 Carbon brush SCHUNK & EBE GmbH 17 Jan 1972 [16 Jan 1971] 2227/72 Heading C1A A carbon brush for electrical machines comprises a basic carbon mix and natural graphite flakes in an amount of up to 20% by weight of the basic mixture. Preferably 60% by weight of the flakes have a diameter of at least 0À4 mm. and a thickness in the range 0À02 to 0À05 mm. The brush is prepared by preparing the basic mixture for pressing and adding the natural graphite. The basic mixture may comprise a mix of graphitized carbon black and other graphitized material. The graphitized material may be produced from pitch coke. The basic mixture may also be a carbon metal mixture.
