Abstract
1371833 Films CELANESE CORP 12 April 1972 [15 April 1971] 16778/72 Heading B5B [Also in Divisions B8 and C3] A package for sterilizing consists of an article enclosed in a normally waterproof material impervious to pathogenic organisms which is porous to a sterilizing gas such as ethylene oxide and trichlorofluoromethane, the material being a film of a polymer with a crystallinity above 20%, a pore size of less than 5000Š, a nitrogen flux of 5 to 400 x 10<SP>-3</SP> gm. moles/sq. cm./min. at 65‹ C. and an elastic recovery at 50% extension of more than 40%. The polymer may be polypropylene or 4-methyl-1-pentene which is stretched and annealed, and may be laminated with a perforated non-porous film as in Specification 1,339,207.
