Abstract
1369940 Making electrical coils ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 19 Dec 1972 [20 Dec 1971] 58479/72 Heading B3A [Also in Division H2] A shaped insulated coil for electric machines is produced by (1) winding a conductor into a coil (Fig. 1, not shown), (ii) wrapping an insulating tape around the turns of the coil over the entire length of the coil (Fig. 2, not shown), (iii) flattening the wrapped coil into a substantially oblong shape such as in Fig. 3, (iv) deforming the oblong coil by moving the parallel sides 2, 3 in opposite directions perpendicular to the plane of the oblong, and (v) compressing the deformed coil to a finished shape as in Fig. 5; step (iii) above may be made redundant if an oblong former, such as in Fig. 4 (not shown), is used in th initial winding of step (i).
