Abstract
1369008 Metal treatment agent FOSECO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 4 Oct 1972 [7 Oct 1971] 46835/71 Heading C7D A metal treatment agent which may be used for the desulphurization of molten iron in a blast furnace comprises compressed bales of ferrous metal string material having within it and wholly surrounded by ferrous metal, one or more bodies of metal useful in the treatment process. The metal useful in the treatment process is an alkali metal such as sodium an alkaline earth metal or magnesium or an alloy containing one or more of these. The desulphurization of molten iron is referred to.
