Abstract

136,897. Rogers, H. A. Dec. 21, 1918. Straps, strengthening; corner joints. - In mouldings and corner pieces having rounded faces to prevent dust from accumulating in boxes, drawers, &c., the corner pieces B, B', Figs. 1 and 2, are shaped by cutting-tools to constitute a continuation of the front face of the moulding lengths and, in one form, these lengths are made in two parts. The corner piece B is formed by cutting away the outwardly-projecting purt of a cube. The corner piece B<1> is adapted for exterior angles. The moulding-length, Fig. 9, comprises a base part F of low-grade material and an outer part G of high-grade material. One or other of the faces F<1> is bevelled or rounded so that on screwing home the screws G<2>, the feather edges G' of the moulding are pressed against the wall &c. The corner pieces and moulding-lengths may be secured together by means of metal angle-plates housed in the channels A<2>, Fig. 1. The moulding- lengths and corner pieces may be let into the adjacent surfaces of the structure, and may have bevelled edges, if desired.
