Abstract

1368530 Knitting machines; take downs EDOUARD DUBIED & CIE SA 2 Nov 1972 [12 Nov 1971] 50556/72 Heading D1C A take-down roller has its driving torque increased as the diameter of the roll increases by a sensor 19 which has attached to it two counterbalanced springs 16, 21 to enable it to rest lightly on the roll of fabric. The roller is driven through a uni-directional roller mechanism 5 by an arm 6 which rises and falls as a rod 9 is moved by a series of ramps 13 on a member 15 on the knitting machine. By attaching one end of spring 16 to the driving arm 6 the torque is increased as the roller diameter increases.
