Abstract

1367354 Dispensing beverages GKN SANKEY Ltd 19 Oct 1972 [20 July 1971] 33953/71 Heading A4T [Also in Division B1] A drink dispensing machine comprises means 15, Fig.1 to receive a cup 10, means 18 to project liquid downwardly in the form of a coherent jet into the cup, the jet being arranged to impinge on the inner surface of the cup wall above the bottom surface of the cup so as to flow down said surface and along the bottom of the cup, and means 17 to cause relative rotation between the jet and the cup whilst said impingement and flow continues to take place. When the dry ingredient and the fluid are easily mixable and no froth is required a second means 26 Fig.2 is provided which gives a fan shaped jet. This is brought into operation after a predetermined amount of liquidhas passed through means 25. The cup is still rotated and the angle of the fan jet is such as to intersect the surface 28, the substantially full level, at the middle of the cup, Fig.3 shows an embodiment where the jets are rotated. The cup rotates between 1 and 2 revolutions. The filling may occur at the cup delivery station or at another station.
