Abstract

1365879 Kettle SAMUEL GROVES & CO Ltd 4 Feb 1972 [11 Nov 1970] 53610/70 Addition to 1274444 Heading A4A A kettle 10 comprising a vessel in accordance with claim 1 of Specification 1274444 has an internal electric heating element 19. The spout 14 of the kettle is formed as an outward extension of an upwardly diverging side wall 12 and is partially closed by portions of the single piece of sheet metal forming the vessel being turned towards each other and joined along a seam line (15) Fig. 2 (not shown). The upper edge of the side wall 12 is closed by an annular plate 17 supporting a cover 18. The lower edge of the mouth 16 of the spout 14 is spaced above the bottom wall by a distance which is slightly greater than that of the lowest part of the central aperture of the plate 17. A plate may be provided in the kettle to shield the spout 16 from the main body portion of the vessel.
