Abstract

1364787 Hammer mills V E H ACTON 8 Nov 1972 [9 Nov 1971] 51444/72 Heading B2A A hammer mill of the kind described in copending Specification 1364786 includes a material-feed assembly with a downwardlyextending duct 11, Fig. 4, which feeds material into a housing 8, 9 rotatably mounted within the casing. The housing has open-ended radially-outwardly extending passages which direct material to the rotor 7. The passages are formed by vanes 10 provided with strips 19, Fig. 5, which trap some of the feed material to form a lining for the feed assembly. The liner of the milling chamber may comprise sawtooth section plates Fig. 6.
