Abstract

1364104 Smoking mixture IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 10 Nov 1972 [15 Dec 1971] 58231/71 Heading A2C The mixture comprises a solid combustible material other than tobacco and as a flavourant either 2,3-dimethylpyrazine or 2,3,5- trimethylpyrazine. In the example, an aqueous slurry containing thermally degraded cellulose (as the combustible material), glycerol, ammonium sulphate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, magnesite, calcium carbonate and bentonite was cast to form a sheet, shredded and the shreds sprayed with a solution of either of the above flavourants in diethyl ether. The resultant mixture was blended with an equal weight of tobacco.
