1363601 Foundry core moulding process NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT SANITARNOI TEKHNIKI and SPETSIALIZIROVANNAYA PROEKTNOKONSTRUKTORSKAYA NALADOCHNAYA ORGANIZATSIA " ROSORGTEKHSTROM " 15 Aug 1972 38084/72 Heading B3F A foundry core is produced by forcing a fluid sand mixture containing a binder and a foaming agent into a heated core-box, building up a pressure in the core-box of from 3 to 40 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> on the sand mixture and maintaining the pressure for 5 to 90 seconds to form a solid skin on the core being moulded as a result of the binder hardening under the effect of heat supplied from the core-box. The pressure build-up may be in several stages and may be obtained by employing a telescopic injection piston for forcing fluid sand mixture into a core-box under pressure and for applying further pressure to the sand after injection into a core-box.
