Abstract

1362351 Coating with ZrPt 3 by cataphoresis BBC BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 27 Dec 1972 [29 Dec 1971] 59670/72 Heading C7B [Also in Division H1] In making a grid electrode for an electric discharge tube a grid of Mo or W is annealed in H 2 at 1000-1100‹ C to remove surface impurities. A coating of 3Á particles of ZrPt 3 is applied by cataphoresis and sintered in vacuum or inert gas at 1500-1600‹ C. A coating of Pt is added electrolytically and the electrode degassed in vacuum at 1500-1600‹ C. Known intermediate coatings of carbides, borides and silicides are referred to.
