Abstract
1361196 Retractive switches JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 31 Dec 1971 [22 Jan 1971] 2935/71 Heading H1N A biased-on switch comprises an insulating moulded case 11, a conductive base-plate 12, a sliding contact carrier 15 having a resilient U-shaped contact member 17 secured thereto by tabs 19, and a spring 21 arranged to bias the carrier so as to establish an electrical circuit from the fixed contact 14 via the contact member 17 to the conductive base-plate 12. Apertured wings 23 integral with plate 12 are used to secure the switch by bolting &c. to a conductive support (not shown), which may be earthed, and tabs 24 secure the case 11 to the base-plate 12 by engaging over lugs 25 formed in the case walls. The case may be of an acetal copolymer, the base of steel and the contact strip of phosphor bronze. Depression of the actuating button 16 causes the electric circuit to be broken. An application is in the worming system for a vehicle hand brake.
