Abstract
1360961 Finned-tube heat exchangers DUNHAM-BUSH Inc 22 Jan 1973 [2 Oct 1972] 3180/73 Heading F4S A fin and tube heat exchanger assembly (10, Fig. 1), particularly for use in air conditioning systems, comprises a plurality of refrigerantcarrying tubes (12) which are connected in serpentine fashion by return bends (14) and pass through flanged openings 22 in astack of parallel transversely extending sheet metal flns 20, the fins being suitably pleated to define shallow angulated corrugations. Punched out openings or holes 42 elongated in a direction at right angles to the air flow 24 through the assembly are formed in the inclined portions of the fins between adjacent fold lines 38.
