Abstract

1360298 Discharging hoppers P LIGOUZAT 19 Oct 1972 [26 Oct 1971] 48163/72 Heading B8S [Also in Division B1] Material in a container 1 is swept through a discharge outlet 7 by a rotatable helical wire. In Fig. 1, one end of the wire is secured to a rotary shaft 4 and the other end sweeps along the wall of the container. In Fig. 3, an annular helical wire 8 is carried at the edge of a disc 9 secured to the shaft 4. Modifications of this embodiment (Figs. 5-7) comprise replacing the wire 8 by a plurality of concentric annular helical wires, by a spiral wire 13, and by including more wire carrying discs axially spaced from the disc 9. In Fig. 8, a driven stirrup 19 supports a pair of oppositely wound concentric helical springs 17, 18, the outer 17 of which carries a helical wire 21.
