Abstract
1359568 Cleaning conveyer belts KOMBINAT FORTSCHRITT LANDMASCHINEN NEUSTADT IN SACHSEN VEB 30 Nov 1972 55329/72 Heading B8A Slats 1 of a conveyer belt are scraped by a spring-loaded member 4 as they pass around sprockets 17 at the end of a working run. Brushes 9 on an endless belt 8, reciprocate back and forth to clear out debris from spaces between the edges of the slats. A scraper 11 (Fig. 4) clears dirt from the brushes 9. The action of the member 4 and brushes 9, is synchronized by the action of a pulse generater wheel carried by the shaft of the sprockets 17. At a zone along the return run of the belt a brush 20 is applied to the outside of the slats, and cleansing fluid is played on the inside from a jet 21. Rinsing fluid is applied at X by jets 24, 25 carried by an endless belt (Fig. 3). The jets are tilted at each end of their travel by the action of cam tracks 28, 37. The fluid is directed to a shoot 32 by the action of a curtain 30 having an adjustable upper mounting 37.
