Abstract

1356954 Animal feedstuff UNILEVER Ltd 21 Dec 1971 [23 Dec 1970] 61108/70 Heading A2B An animal feedstuff comprises a solidified mixture of a sugar syrup and an alkaline earth metal hydroxide, the weight proportion of hydroxide:syrup being at least 1:8. The syrup contains preferably 15-40% water and 45- 70% sugar. The feedstuff is prepared by mixing appropriate amounts of syrup and hydroxide, and allowing the mixture to set. The hydroxide is preferably calcium or magnesium hydroxide. Fat (such as tallow), protein, a non- protein nitrogen source and inorganic salts may be incorporated in the mixture. The mixture can be shaped before setting, to form blocks, licks or pellets.
