Abstract

1356015 Switching circuits HONEYWELL INFORMATION SYSTEMS Inc 19 April 1971 [24 March 1970] 44728/73 Divided out of 1356014 Heading H3T A circuit for sloping the edges of a stepped signal, e.g. to more slowly accelerate a motor controlled thereby, comprises a capacitor 135 connected to normally conducting current source 121 and current sink 131, an inverting differential amplifier 113 for rendering one or other of the source and sink non-conducting in dependence upon the input signal and a negative feedback circuit from the capacitor to the other input of the amplifier. A sudden change in input' voltage makes one transistor non-conducting so that the capacitor charges or discharges until the voltage is equal to the input voltage whereupon both transistors conduct equal current and the capacitor charge remains constant. A resistor 137 provides an initial step to the output voltage charges and diodes 125 and 133 provide temperature compensation for the Zener diodes.
