Abstract

1355381 Locks HAGELINS KASSASKAPSFABRIK AB 2 Aug 1971 36141/71 Heading E2A A closure device for a safe-deposit vault, strongroom or safe comprises a door 1a pivotally mounted in a door frame 1 surrounding the door and a locking mechanism therefor, the door having a recess 1b in at least one edge thereof and the mechanism including a bolt 2 engageable in the recess and mountable in the door frame so as to be movable between a withdrawn position permitting opening of the door and a shot position in which the bolt engages in the recess to lock the door. There are bolt-actuating means for moving the bolt between its withdrawn and shot positions, and controllable stop means positionable by drive means distinct from the bolt actuating means to block movement away from its shot position. As shown, the bolt 2 is mounted by rollers 5, 6 on the frame 1 so as to be transversely movable by a toggle mechanism 4, 'operated by an' electrical, magnetic or air pressure device 3, or manually, into the slot 1b. Remotely controlled drive means F, Fig. 6, displace rods C, D to. rotate discs E so that rods A, B projecting from the bolt engage in recesses of the discs whereby the bolt may be moved to' the withdrawn position thereof. Supplementary locking means J having spring biassed latches or pawls receive rods A1 secured to the bolt, the springs being tensioned by cables H via the drive means F; fuses G in the cables become operative to separate the cables and render the locking means J inoperative when an unauthorised attempt is made to open the door by the use of heat or explosives.
