1353504 Urinals REGENCY STAINLESS Ltd 28 Sept 1971 45009/71 Heading A4N A urinal comprising a back wall 1, two side walls 2 projecting forwardly from the ends of said back wall, a trough 7 extending between the bottom of the side walls and projecting forwardly from the bottom part of said back wall, the trough having a base 8 and an upwardly projecting wall portion 9, a waste outlet (12) Fig. 2 (not shown) formed in the base of the trough and positioned adjacent to said wall portion, a sponge device 16 arranged at or near the top of said back wall and through which flushing water may be supplied to the face of said back wall and thence to the interior of the trough, and an openwork grating 28 for the user of the urinal to stand upon and which extends over part of the trough and is spaced above the base thereof, the grating being of such a width measured between its front and rear edges compared with the width of the trough when measured in the same direction, that an uninterrupted opening is left between the rear edge of the grating and the face of said wall of the urinal. To the rear face of said back wall there may be bonded a sheet 39 of sound-absorbing material which also acts to stiffen the wall. Legs 14, which are deep enough so as not to allow interference to the spigot 13, are welded to the underside of the trough to support the urinal. The particular mounting arrangements of the gratings Figs.7, 8, 11, 12 and 13 (not shown) allow the sections of the gratings to be either readily removed to give access to the trough, or swung upwardly, a lateral projection (47) holding the grating away from the wall 1 of the urinal. The urinal is made almost completely of stainless steel.
