Abstract
135,336. Leigh, J. W., and Hough, E. W. Dec. 9, 1918. Mechanical toys. - The rod carrying the weights of a balancing toy passes through the toy and is adjustable to vary the normal position of the toy figure. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, a figure representing a bird is fitted with two balance weights 4 at the end of arms 3, so that it may balance and rock upon its toes a when placed upon a support 5. The clamp g by which the arms 3 are fixed to the bird &c. 2 is adjustable so that the angle of repose of the bird can be altered. The figure may be fitted with a grooved pulley so that it may travel on a cord. The arms 3 are formed by a single wire which passes through the body of the figure 2, and the weights 4 are adjustable along it independently. Several modified forms of clamp g are described,
