Abstract

1353016 Steam generators ASSOCIATED ENG Ltd 9 June 1971 [2 April 1970 7 May 1970 (2)] 15743/70 22193/70 and 22194/70 Heading F4A [Also in Division F1] A feed pump 12 driven by a main engine 11 draws liquid from a hot well 13 and passes the liquid through a feed preheater 14 to a vapour generator or boiler 15. The generator 15 may be of the kind in which the liquid is forced through a system of convoluted or coiled pipes which are heated to vaporize and possibly superheat the liquid. The hot exhaust gases from a gas turbine 26 pass to the vapour generator 15. Further heat for the vapour generator may be provided by the injection of a further supply of fuel into the combustion chamber 21. In a modification the boiler is located in the gas turbine combustion chamber and the feed water is heated by the exhaust of the gas turbine.
